The platform is renowned for its expertly curated selection of high-end designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and beauty products. As a pioneer in marrying luxury with e-commerce, Net-A-Porter set a new benchmark for the online shopping experience, transforming the luxury retail landscape through a focus on customer service, digital innovation, and editorial storytelling.
Delta Global began working with Net-A-Porter in 2019 on a VIP gifting project, and the partnership has since flourished - built on trust and a shared passion for luxury and sustainability. Today, Delta Global supplies the brand’s iconic gift boxes and bags and plays a key role in seasonal and VIP initiatives, including their standout advent calendars.
Net-A-Porter approached Delta Global with a clear brief: to design an advent calendar that broke away from expected and conventional solutions, while embodying the brand’s hallmark elegance. Tasked with housing fifteen uniquely sized beauty ‘hero’ gifts, the solution needed to balance form and function with sustainability at its core. Sustainability, elegance, and reusability were paramount — with a focus on using responsibly sourced materials and creating a design that could be repurposed beyond the festive season, reflecting Net-A-Porter’s commitment to thoughtful luxury and a more sustainable future.
To deliver on Net-A-Porter’s vision for a sustainable, elegant, and reusable advent calendar, Delta Global explored a wide range of innovative structures before arriving at the final concept - The Lantern. The construction offered strong visual theatre, generous capacity, and ample space for branding.
With a locking lid and base, the lantern houses fifteen bespoke cartons, stacked with precision to maximise internal volume. Once the cartons have been removed, the structure transforms into a decorative piece, softly lit from within by low-energy LED lights that project a starry night sky. The lighting component is removable for efficient recycling, supporting circular design principles. In place of magnets, a Japanese lock secures the lid - an intricate mechanism that adds both sustainability and craftsmanship to the final piece.
Each internal carton is individually designed with a paper tab for easy access, tailored to fit a unique gift. The result is a standout, reusable keepsake that elevates the unboxing experience while reflecting Net-A-Porter’s commitment to beauty, innovation, and responsibility.
