For Holiday 2025, MECCA marked the tenth anniversary of its acclaimed Artist Collaboration Series with a vibrant, expressive collection created by Australian artist Karen Black. Delta Global was selected for the first time to produce MECCA’s complete holiday packaging suite. This collaboration brought together MECCA’s commitment to art, design, and female creative empowerment with Delta Global’s technical expertise, craftsmanship and sustainability-focused production.
MECCA required a packaging suite that could showcase Karen Black’s artwork across a wide range of retail and gifting formats, while delivering a premium, tactile in-store and online experience. The range needed to be visually cohesive, structurally durable, and scalable across high-volume production. Sustainability was also a priority, with MECCA seeking improvements in material choices and recyclability without compromising the luxury cues customers expect.
Delta Global translated Karen Black’s expressive, hand-painted artwork into a cohesive, retail-ready packaging suite of more than thirty components. The collection features retail bags with woven paper handles, lid & base gift boxes, paper wrap, 3D swing tags, a sticker, gift card envelope and multiple tissue paper designs and striped elastic belly bands, all designed to bring the artist’s vibrant brushstrokes to life.
Colour fidelity and structural integrity were central tot he project. Delta Global ensured consistent colour reproduction across all substrates and surfaces, while engineering gift boxes and bags to ensure efficient construction & to withstand handling amongst the fast-paced retail environment. Finishes such as embossing, spot UV & foil were applied thoughtfully to highlight key design elements without detracting from the collection’s celebratory artwork.
Sustainability informed every decision for the Holiday 25project. FSC® certified & recyclable materials were utilised throughout, with durability prioritised to encourage customers to reuse the packaging. By carefully balancing decorative finishes with material performance, Delta Global delivered a collection that felt luxurious, resilient, and environmentally responsible. The result was an art-led range that faithfully captured MECCA’s creative vision while demonstrating Delta Global’s expertise in design, production, and sustainable innovation.
The Holiday 25 collection launched in over 100 stores across Australia and New Zealand, quickly becoming one of MECCA’s most celebrated seasonal executions. Customers responded strongly to the vivid aesthetic and the elevated tactile details, which enhanced the gifting and unboxing experience.
The range also demonstrated real longevity, with many customers taking to social media to share ideas on ways to reuse the packaging collection for storage, décor, travel organisation and future gifting - extending the life of the materials and reinforcing MECCA’s positioning as a brand that produces packaging worth keeping.
